VII Route of Madrid's Typical Cocido

 
 

With the arrival of the cold nothing better than a good Cocido from Madrid to get warm. Who wants to try the best Cocidos in Madrid can not stop participating in this gastronomic route that will tour 36 restaurants in the Community of Madrid offering the possibility of tasting the typical dish of our land.

Among the participants are centenaries and new establishments, such as Casa Carola, Casa Pello, Malacatín, La Bola or Posada del León de Oro, which will offer a complete menu of Cocido. The drink and dessert are not usually included but it is best to consult in each place to know the schedule, the price and to reserve.

In addition, eight restaurants in Madrid are part of the route for the first time: Colección Cibeles (Madrid), which presents a new healthy Cocido (100% defatted and without salt), Hacienda San Martín (Horcajuelo de la Sierra), Marilyn Cafeteria (Madrid) , El Mordisco (Madrid), En Barro Cocido (Madrid), El Cabrero (Alpedrete), Taberna La Cita (Moralzarzal) and Kandrak (Collado Villalba).

As usual, will also be awarded the prizes of the 2016 edition of Best Cocido, which has fallen in the restaurant Casa Carola; To the Best Soup of Cooked, that will stop to Puerta Hinge; The Best Chickpeas, for which La Bola has been awarded; The Best Vuelco de Carne, which will be for Manolo since 1934; And the Most Traditional Cook, for which the Crusade has been voted.

This year, in order to promote the consumption of wines produced in the Community, a photographic contest is held that will award with baked goods for two people and guided visits to the wineries of Madrid to the diners who share their photo of the Cocido accompanied by wine from the region in the social networks. To do this you have to share the image on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter at @ RutadelCocidoMadrileño and @madridrutasdelvino under the hashtag #CocidoConVinodeMadrid. Each week, a Cocido for two people will be raffled in one of the establishments adhered to the route and guided tours to wineries in Madrid Wine tourism.

In addition, customers can vote for their favorite Cocido through the more than 50,000 posters that will be distributed in the region.

Organized by the Culinary Association Qué rico España, it seeks to stimulate gastronomic tourism throughout the Community of Madrid and promote a dish that uses vegetables and meats from the region.
